Meet your therapist:
Allison Osborn, LCSW
My journey into the mental health field began back in 2011, when I was connected with an amazing therapist in Longmont, Colorado at the age of 13. Many of the practices, interventions and even metaphors are used in my own practice. She encouraged resiliency, self-empowerment and the idea that our experiences do not define us; we get to decide our own path moving forward.
Fast forward to 2016. I began working as a 1:1 camp counselor with youth with disabilities and gained an overall passion in providing accessibility and opportunities for youth to engage in the same activities as their same aged peers.
In 2020, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Prior to earning my Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in 2022, I worked as a behavioral health technician working with youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as other disabilities. This experience, while challenging in many ways continued to grow my passion for that population. I supported youth ages 3-16 in a variety of ways; from teaching them to communicate to promoting self regulation and behavioral support.
After graduating with my MSW, I began working as a school social worker and supported students in a variety of settings and grade levels.
With the growing need for mental healthcare, there continues to be a gap in services offered to individuals with disabilities. The goal of my practice is to provide these services using evidence based interventions and the belief that all people deserve adequate access to support needed to meet their basic human needs of connection and belonging.
